A massive thank you to Karen for organising a super fun Easter tournament marking the end of our pay and play sessions in Callywith and our return to Lanivet next Monday.
It’s a very unique evening bringing together players ranging from 16-70 plus in age and in essence this is all about having fun together opening up the play to every member of Lanivet Netball. As a club we’ve always prided ourselves on being inclusive and this shone through on court this evening.
Well done Karen - you did brilliantly coping with last minute changes as players pulled out due to illness.
Thank you also to Jenna and her daughter Teagan for scoring and timing and to Bryony for your support and of course not forgetting Cheryl for providing the tunes including the House of Bamboo!
Although the aim was firmly focused on having fun the competition was fierce with the Pink team coming out on top of the Greens, Light Blue and Navy teams.
Bronnie deserves a shout out for her tremendous shooting in the opening game for the Greens and throughout the competition; Sam shone for the Pink team in WD; while 16-year-old Lily showed tremendous presence and speed in her tournament debut as WD for the Light Blue team; Laura stepped in for the Navy team missing two of their original start list players and hot legging it straight from work Sarah immediately proved influential in defence.
Everyone on court deserves a mention but over-riding the play was the sound of clapping, cheering and encouragement from the sidelines for all our players and teams.
Thanks to everyone for making it a great evening for our club and yes everyone went home with chocolate!
